Mike Norm and Sergei ate a good breakfast today.
It was pretty yummy they said. Also it was free.
About Us
Imagine -- imaging what the next decade will
bring ...
The imaging technology at the
Brain-Body Institute’s Imaging Research Centre at St. Joseph’s
Hospital Hamilton is revolutionary – enabling unprecedented
views of dynamic activity of the brain and body working
together.
The Centre is the only site in the
world to have a 50-cm field of view PET (positron emission
tomography), capable of mapping the biochemical activity of
the brain and the lungs simultaneously and which opens an
unprecedented window for researchers to witness in real-time,
concurrent activity in the brain and the body. The Centre’s 3T
fMRI is only the second machine of this kind in the world. It
provides exquisitely detailed images of the fine structures in
the body and reveals the underlying metabolic activity.
The PET and MRI bring function and
activity together. Their rich images reveal the brain at work
with the body. The capacity of these remarkable research tools
is beyond the reach of most health and academic institutions.
This state-of-the-art, highly developed technology will enable
researchers to discover the complex intereactions between the
brain and the body in disease and guide them to beneficial
treatments.
